This website is your gateway to the Practice Activity Software that accompanies your Skills Practice Manual. The Practice Activity Software simulates a hospital computer system that you may use for practice when transcribing the printed and handwritten doctors' orders provided in the Skills Practice Manual. Options provided include the following:
- Enter orders
- Print a nursing unit census
- Admit a patient
- Transfer a patient
- Discharge a patient
- Research location of patients admitted to the hospital by using "patient inquiry"
- Verify tests ordered by using "order inquiry"
- Cancel an order that has been entered
- Research diagnostic test results by using "laboratory results" or "diagnostic test results"
- Locate or create a patient profile
- Enter medications on a patient medication profile
- Locate or create a patient profile
- Locate a doctor on the doctor's roster
Patient forms may be printed making it possible for you to practice the transcription process at home.
